As undergrads and best friends at the University of Virginia, Eric Prum and Josh Williams’ mutual interest in cooking and entrepreneurship inspired them to launch a catering company. Over the course of cooking and entertaining for dozens of events, the pair kindled the spark for a future business in food and beverage.
In the years that followed, Josh launched a career in the NYC startup world, while Eric pursued consumer product manufacturing ventures across the globe. In 2012, a simple idea that celebrated the pair’s Southern heritage—a Mason Jar cocktail shaker—became the catalyst for founding W&P. With the runaway success of their first Kickstarter campaign and early placements in such retailers as West Elm, Josh and Eric soon took the leap into full-time entrepreneurship. Six years later, the W&P lays claim to more than 250 product designs, developed in collaboration with an ever-growing creative studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
